I’m a millionaire

I will be a millionaire very soon. I’ll be throwing cash on the streets in KL. I will be announcing it when I receive the money. Believe me? Haha. This African guy sent an e-mail to me with this content.

DR.ABDULFARUK

AUDITING AND ACCOUNTING MANAGER,
BANK OF AFRICA (B.O.A)
OUAGADOUGOU-BURKINA FASO.

Dear Friend,

I am the manager of auditing department of BANK OF AFRICA (B.O.A) here in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of US$20.5m dollars (Twenty Million Five Hundred Thousand US dollars) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer (DR. GEORGE BRUMLEY FROM U.S.A) who died along with his entire family on November 2000 in a plane crash.

Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we can not release it unless some body applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guideling and laws but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim. It is therefore upon this discovery that I now decided to make this business proposal to you,

so that the money can be release to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody will come for it and we don’t want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed dormant fund. The banking law and guidline here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after eight years the money will be transfered into the bank treasury as unclaimed dormant fund. The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occassioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a Burkinabe like me can not stand as next of kin to a foreigner.I agreed that 40% of this money will be for you as a respect to the provision of a foriegn account ,10% will be set aside for expenses incurred during the business and 50% would be for me.Thereafter,

I will visit your country for disbursement according to the percentage indicated Therefore, to enable the immediate transfer of this fund to you arranged, you must apply first to the bank as relation or next of kin to the deceased customer with a text of application that i will send to you,but before i send to youthe text of application form,I will like you to send me the following informations

1.NAME IN FULL:………………………….
2.ADDRESS:…………………………………
3.NATIONALITY:……………………………..
4.AGE:………………………………………
5.Sex……………………………………….
6.OCCUPATION:………………………………..
7.MARITAL STATUS:…………………………….
8.PRIVATE PHONE NO……………………………………..
9.PRIVATE FAX NO:………………………………………

so i will like you to send to me those informations for easy and effective communication. Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by fax or email the text of the application form.I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is hitch-free and that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements will be made for the transfer. You should contact me immediately as soon as
you receive this letter,if only you are intrested and ready to help.
Trusting to hear from you immediately.

Yours Faithfully,
DR.ABDUL FARUK

AFRICA

Just be careful of such scam. Some people might think I’m just wasting my time telling something that’s so common but there are actually a lot people falling for such quick buck scheme. There’s no free lunch in this world!

The VAIO hunt

Thinking of owning a brand new Sony VAIO CR laptop? Here’s your chance to do so. Currently, Sony is organising a game called ‘The VAIO Hunt’. All you have to do is to register yourself and you’ll will get a ‘travel visa’ for free. From there, just click on the selected country and answer a question within 10 seconds.

There are a few more countries to go still. In order for you to do that, you need extra ‘travel visas’! These extra ‘travel visas’ will help you unlock other countries and these ‘travel visas’ can be gained by inviting others to register. The last thing you have to do is guess your submission number when you submit you entry. That’s all. There are other prizes to be won as well.

Click the image below and register yourself now. I’ve done so and I managed to get 3 ‘travel visas’ so far.

My first day

I’ve officially started my working life yesterday and I like it. A lof of people told me that studying is better than working. I agree to the certain extent though.  Working environment in Motorola testing department is kinda relax and having great colleagues around, working 8 hours is not so bad. I actually look forward to work everyday. Haha!

I have a Malay guy by the name of Wan sitting on my left and he did help me a lot to get used to some of the technical stuff on the first day of work.

Wan

Then on my right, I have James and Sunny. James is an outspoken guy and he cracks a lot of jokes and he also get the most questions from me because he’s the most senior of us all.

James and Sunny

I could only took their backs as they were busy ‘working’ on their stuff. Let me show you my workstation. Nothing to shout about though. I was given two similar Motorola phones and a HP laptop to test and report and failures.

Mind sharing with me your first day of work experience? I would like to know!

I love KL

I really do. And now, I actually prefer KL over Penang. Anyway, both have theirs own pros and cons! Moving to another thing, one of my close friends, Daniel, came over to KL to help his dad to move to a new house and at the same time ‘lepak’ around here and there. We all went out for lunch at Food & Tea Restaurant in Berjaya Times Square on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This HK-themed restaurant is almost similar to Kim Gary Restaurant.

I had the Noodle soup with minced meat while KV went for their Nissin noodle with beef steak. We shared the Sour sop with water pox together. What is water pox actually?

Took a group photo before we went off to Sungei Wang for shopping. Me and Daniel became KV’s human testers for her to try the nail polishers. We became damn sissy lah!

After walking for an hour or so in Sungei Wang, we dropped by Nando’s for some snack and chatting before heading elsewhere. We even played a game with the Nando’s Peri chips. Haha!

My twin brother and Aileen had to leave for Genting Highlands, so we left too. Haha! Went off to Berjaya Times Square again to watch The Incredible Hulk at IMAX. The screen is really damn big!

The Incredible Hulk

I’ll rate this movie at 7/10. It was quite cool to see the special effects and see the green giant smashing stuff. What a long post huh. I really enjoyed my weekend to the fullest. Thanks to Nuffnang as well as KV, Daniel, my twin brother and his gf. Haha! Next up, my first day at work!

Urbanscapes 2008 @ KLPac

I didn’t update my blog for the past two days as I was really busy and was kinda too tired to blog. Anyway, I had a great weekend. How about you? I got free tickets to Urbanscapes 2008 from Nuffnang. If not for the free tickets, I would have to pay RM35.00 for myself! We went there around 3.00pm and took the tickets from Robb and went in straight into KLPac. It looks nice in there, seriously. If you do drop by Sentul area, visit KLPac.

We walked around and checked the whole place out. I wanna give the Urbanscapes 2008 organisers a thumbs up. They’ve done a great job in organising this event. I heard Robb said this event was a low-budget one but they still put up a great event.

Open air performance

They had a marketplace for the shoppers too. Some of these stalls were selling their own second-hand clothes while sold new self-designed clothes. KV bought a dress, a top and two T-shirts for a small sum of RM70.00. I bought her a bag too while I bought none for myself. Anyway, it was super-duper hot there!

Caught red-handed

I met a few familiar faces there like Kenny Choo, Rames and Jen. Met and talked to smashpOp a while before heading to the nearest foodstall.

Me and smashpOp

After settling for a kebab and a fried chicken nugget, we went off to enjoyed the band performances. All the bands playing that afternoon were great. We walked around and took some photos before heading to Petaling Street for dinner.

What's up man

I had a lot of fun there and I really enjoyed myself. Thanks again to Nuffnang for the the tickets!
